Creative Advocacy Against Gender-Based Violence

The Community Creative Center for Women and Girls with Disabilities (CCCWGD) partnered with BRUISES, a spoken word activism platform, on Sunday, 19th November 2025, to deliver a powerful spoken word performance addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV). The program featured acclaimed spoken word artist Mottanni, whose performance set the tone for an impactful and reflective experience.

Spoken Word as a Tool for Social Change

The performance utilized spoken word as a form of artistic activism to confront the harsh realities of gender-based violence. Through compelling storytelling and poetic expression, the program provoked deep reflection, challenged harmful norms, and inspired dialogue around justice, dignity, and collective responsibility in combating GBV.

Inclusion and Community Participation

In line with CCCWGD’s vision to empower individuals by leveraging their knowledge and abilities, women and girls with disabilities participated actively as audience members alongside the wider community. Their involvement highlighted the importance of inclusive spaces where everyone can engage with, access, and contribute meaningfully to conversations on critical social issues through creative platforms.

Commitment to Empowerment and Awareness

This collaboration with BRUISES underscores the Community Creative Center’s ongoing commitment to advocacy initiatives that promote awareness, inclusion, and the empowerment of women and girls with disabilities. By working with creative activists, CCCWGD continues to strengthen community engagement and contribute to building safer, more equitable societies.
